Fellowship in Diabetic Foot Surgery is India’s 1 year mentor-led, online program in podiatry. It includes online video modules, live webinars and MCQs-based assessments along with in-person mentoring. Diabetes Mellitus is increasingly being recognized as a public health problem in India.
Today, India is the country with the highest percentage of diabetic patients worldwide. Alarming complications from uncontrolled diabetes include peripheral neuropathy and diabetic foot ulcers. Long-term problems from diabetes can be greatly reduced with careful and multidisciplinary management.
Overview
The loss of sensation in the feet, which usually results in the emergence of ulcers and eventually leads to amputations, is one of the most prevalent problems that sometimes go undiagnosed. Candidates must be familiar with and competent to make the correct diagnoses and appropriate management of diabetic lower limb & foot and ankle problems.
Fellowship in Diabetic Foot Surgery is a course of Fellowship of study and belongs to the Surgery Sub Department, which is part of the Surgery Department, and further part of the Medical & Health Sciences Stream. This course will provide health professionals with evidence-based diabetic foot care education to implement footcare as an adjunct to their professional responsibilities.
